THE west Victorian pied currawong is one of six Australian bird species missing for decades that will soon be listed as ''presumed extinct''.
A study of Australian birds by Charles Darwin University and four wildlife conservation organisations has found no trace of a type of currawong previously found in the Grampians and grasslands of western Victoria, despite numerous searches over two decades.
